Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is an inactivated rabies vaccine developed by Shenzhen Weiguang Biological Products using the CTN strain (specifically the CTNCEC25 strain) adapted to primary chicken embryo cells. The CTN-1 strain is a WHO-approved fixed rabies virus strain widely used in China due to its close genetic relationship with local street viruses. The vaccine is designed to induce neutralizing antibodies against rabies virus antigens, providing active immunity for both pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis. It is typically administered via intramuscular injection and is intended to prevent the fatal central nervous system disease caused by the rabies virus (Lyssavirus).
