Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi Du Kang Da is a freeze-dried rabies vaccine (Vero cell) for human use developed and manufactured by Shandong Yidu Biotechnology. It is an inactivated viral vaccine produced by propagating the rabies virus in Vero cell cultures, followed by purification and lyophilization. The vaccine is indicated for post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to prevent rabies infection following animal bites or other exposures. It is typically administered via intramuscular injection using either the 5-dose Essen schedule (1-1-1-1-1) or the 4-dose 2-1-1 (Zagreb) schedule. As a post-marketing Phase IV study (CTR20252241) evaluates its adherence across these schedules, the vaccine is established in the Chinese market for rabies prevention.
