Overview

**Rabix** is a Russian veterinary inactivated rabies vaccine developed for prophylactic immunization of dogs and other canids, including foxes and arctic foxes. It is produced from beta-propiolactone-inactivated rabies lyssavirus strain ERA-CB-20M grown in BHK-21 cells and formulated as an injectable suspension with an adjuvant. Rabix induces active protective immunity against rabies rather than treating established infection. Rabix was launched in Russia in February 2012 through the Isconova and VetBioChem collaboration; the launch formulation was reported to use Isconova's Matrix-M Vet adjuvant.
