Raciol

Raciol is a specific variety of oilseed flax (*Linum usitatissimum* L.) of Czech origin, characterized by its high content of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and phenolic compounds such as lignans. It is utilized as a functional food or nutraceutical to mitigate cardiovascular risk factors, particularly in postmenopausal women. The variety's mechanism involves the systemic reduction of inflammatory markers like high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and the improvement of lipid profiles, specifically by reducing LDL cholesterol and increasing HDL cholesterol. Its bioactive components, such as secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG), act as phytoestrogens and antioxidants, while its high fiber and omega-3 fatty acid content contribute to metabolic health.
