Overview
**rAd-TRAIL** is a preclinical recombinant, TRAIL-armed oncolytic adenoviral gene-therapy construct designed for cancer treatment. The vector delivers and expresses tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 10, also called TRAIL, to activate extrinsic apoptotic signaling in susceptible tumor cells. In a 2019 colorectal-cancer study, rAd-TRAIL enhanced radiotherapy-associated antitumor activity in colorectal cancer cell lines and an SW480 xenograft model, with reported G1-phase arrest and activation of caspase-8, caspase-3, and PARP cleavage.
