RAD302 is a 177Lu-labelled peptide-based therapeutic radiopharmaceutical in preclinical development by Radiopharm Theranostics. It targets αvβ6-integrin (Integrin alpha-v beta-6), a cellular marker associated with tumor invasion and metastatic growth, whose expression correlates with decreased survival in several carcinomas. The agent is designed to deliver ionizing radiation specifically to tumors expressing high levels of αvβ6-integrin, aiming to treat cancers such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and head-and-neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Preclinical data suggest that kidney-protective strategies may enhance the safety profile of this therapy[1][2][6]. RAD302 is not yet approved and remains in preclinical development. Its mechanism involves targeted delivery of radioactive lutetium-177 via a peptide ligand specific for αvβ6-integrin, which is overexpressed in several aggressive carcinomas. The drug aims to improve outcomes by selectively irradiating tumor cells while sparing normal tissues through integrin targeting[1][2][6]. No brand or generic names are currently assigned.
