rAd5 EnvA

rAd5 EnvA is a replication-defective recombinant adenovirus serotype 5 (rAd5) vector-based vaccine expressing the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein from clade A. It is used as part of experimental HIV vaccine regimens, often in combination with other clade-specific envelope constructs or as a boost following DNA priming. The vaccine delivers the env gene encoding the gp140 or truncated gp145 protein to induce immune responses against HIV-1. Its mechanism involves stimulating both antibody and T-cell responses targeting the HIV-1 envelope protein, aiming to prevent infection or control viral replication after exposure[2][4][6]. The product has been developed and tested by the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)[2][6].
