RAD51 siRNA is a synthetic small interfering RNA designed to specifically target and silence the expression of the RAD51 recombinase gene at the mRNA level. RAD51 is a key protein involved in homologous recombination-mediated DNA repair, protecting cells from DNA double-strand breaks and replication stress. By delivering siRNA targeting RAD51, the cellular homologous recombination pathway is suppressed, leading to impaired DNA repair, increased sensitivity to genotoxic agents, and induction of apoptosis in rapidly proliferating cells such as cancer cells[10]. RAD51 siRNA is primarily used as a molecular biology tool in preclinical studies and as a research reagent to investigate the role of RAD51 in genome stability, replication, and cancer cell survival, as well as a potential experimental therapeutic to sensitize tumor cells to radiation or chemotherapeutic agents[10].
