Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Radix Rubiae topical preparation is an herbal-based therapeutic developed by the School of Chinese Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for the treatment of plaque-type psoriasis. Radix Rubiae, derived from the root of *Rubia cordifolia* (also known as Indian Madder or Qian Cao), has been traditionally used in Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory and blood-cooling properties. In the context of psoriasis, it is hypothesized to inhibit keratinocyte proliferation and modulate inflammatory pathways. The preparation is formulated for topical application to provide localized treatment for mild to moderate chronic plaque-type psoriasis.
