Overview
Ragweed-SPIRE is an investigational immunotherapy product developed for the treatment of ragweed pollen allergy (seasonal allergic rhinitis). It is based on synthetic peptide immuno-regulatory epitopes (SPIREs) derived from the major allergen in ragweed pollen. The therapy aims to induce immune tolerance by targeting T-cell responses, thereby reducing allergic symptoms upon exposure to ragweed pollen. In clinical studies, Ragweed-SPIRE was administered as a short-course regimen prior to the start of the ragweed season and demonstrated dose-dependent improvements in allergy symptoms compared with placebo. The product was well-tolerated with no significant safety issues reported in trials[5][1].
