Raksha Biovac

Raksha Biovac is a veterinary combination vaccine developed by Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) for the simultaneous immunization of cattle and buffaloes against Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and Hemorrhagic Septicemia (HS). The vaccine is formulated as an oil-adjuvanted emulsion containing inactivated antigens of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV) serotypes O, A, and Asia 1, along with inactivated *Pasteurella multocida*. It is designed to stimulate a protective humoral immune response against both viral and bacterial pathogens, thereby reducing the need for separate vaccinations and improving compliance in mass vaccination programs. The vaccine has been extensively utilized in India's national livestock health initiatives, including the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMD-CP) and the Livestock Health Disease Control Program.
