Overview

Ralmitaront is an investigational small molecule antipsychotic developed by Roche (Hoffmann-La Roche) and Chugai Pharmaceutical. It acts as a partial agonist of the trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1). Ralmitaront was studied for the treatment of negative symptoms in schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, as well as for acute psychotic symptoms in schizophrenia. Clinical development reached Phase II trials, but these were discontinued or terminated due to lack of efficacy. The drug has also been investigated for its effects on dopamine synthesis capacity and potential use in other psychiatric disorders[1][5][7][8].
