Drug intelligence / Profile preview
rAls3p-N is a recombinant vaccine antigen consisting of the N-terminal domain of the Candida albicans agglutinin-like sequence 3 (Als3) protein, a cell wall glycoprotein that functions as an adhesin and invasin. Developed by The Lundquist Institute and NovaDigm Therapeutics, rAls3p-N is formulated with aluminum hydroxide (as NDV-3 or NDV-3A) to act as an immunotherapeutic vaccine. It stimulates robust humoral and cellular (Th1/Th17) immune responses, generating antibodies that block fungal adhesion and invasion of host tissues. Due to structural homology between Als3 and Staphylococcus aureus clumping factor A (ClfA), the vaccine provides cross-kingdom protection against both Candida species (including C. albicans and C. auris) and S. aureus (including MRSA).
