Ramea ODF

Ramea ODF is an orally dispersible film (ODF) formulation of ramosetron, a selective serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, developed by Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting, particularly chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). The ODF technology allows the medication to dissolve rapidly on the tongue without the need for water, which is highly beneficial for patients experiencing severe emesis or those with difficulty swallowing. By selectively blocking 5-HT3 receptors in both the peripheral gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system's chemoreceptor trigger zone, ramosetron effectively inhibits the emetic reflex triggered by serotonin release.
