RaniPill HC

RaniPill HC (High Capacity) is an oral drug delivery platform developed by Rani Therapeutics designed to deliver large-molecule biologics, such as peptides, proteins, and antibodies, that typically require subcutaneous or intravenous administration. The device is a proprietary capsule that, upon ingestion, protects the drug from the gastrointestinal environment and uses a robotic mechanism to deliver a drug-loaded microneedle into the vascularized wall of the small intestine. The HC version is specifically engineered to handle a higher payload capacity of up to 20mg, which represents a significant increase over the original RaniPill GO capsule. It has been tested in preclinical studies with various active ingredients, including adalimumab, teriparatide, and semaglutide, for conditions such as autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis, and obesity.
