Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RAX-D is an oral fixed-dose combination therapy containing ranitidine hydrochloride and domperidone, developed and marketed by Thrift Pharmaceuticals. Ranitidine is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist that reduces stomach acid production, while domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 and D3 receptor antagonist that acts as a prokinetic agent to enhance gastric motility and accelerate stomach emptying. This combination is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, hyperacidity, and associated symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.
