Overview

RANKL inhibitor biosimilar is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar candidate currently in preclinical development by Saya Bio. It is designed as a biosimilar to denosumab, targeting the Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL). RANKL is a key mediator of osteoclast-mediated bone resorption; it is essential for the formation, function, and survival of osteoclasts. By binding to and neutralizing RANKL, this biosimilar prevents the activation of the RANK receptor on the surface of osteoclasts and their precursors, thereby inhibiting bone resorption and increasing bone mineral density. The therapeutic focus for this asset includes the treatment of osteoporosis and the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors.
