Overview

RAP-103 is an orally active, stabilized pentapeptide analog of DAPTA (D-ala-peptide T-amide) developed by Clarent Biopharma, Inc. for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. It functions as a multi-chemokine receptor antagonist, specifically targeting CCR2, CCR5, and CCR8. These receptors are involved in the recruitment and activation of inflammatory cells; by antagonizing them, RAP-103 aims to reduce the skin inflammation characteristic of psoriasis. The drug is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 proof-of-concept clinical trial (often referred to by dosing arms such as RAP400 for the 400mg QD regimen) to determine its safety and efficacy compared to placebo.
