Overview

**Rapana venosa hemocyanin** is a large copper-containing glycoprotein isolated from the hemolymph of the marine snail *Rapana venosa*. It functions naturally as an oxygen transporter in invertebrates and is comprised of two main structural subunits (RvH1 and RvH2), each containing eight functional domains. As a biologic agent, RvH displays potent immunostimulatory, antitumor, and antiviral properties. Mechanistically, it is believed to exert antitumor effects through both immune system activation and direct antiproliferative/apoptotic action on tumor cells. It has demonstrated significant efficacy in preclinical studies against various cancer cell lines, including breast cancer, bladder cancer, and myeloid tumors, both *in vitro* and *in vivo*. Compared to the clinically used keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), RvH displays similar broad immunomodulating and cytotoxic effects but originates from a different mollusk species. Currently, RvH is considered an investigational agent with potential applications in cancer immunotherapy and as a vaccine adjuvant[1][2][4][5][7].
