Overview

Raptor siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to specifically knock down the expression of regulatory-associated protein of mTOR (Raptor), a key scaffolding component of the mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). By targeting Raptor mRNA for degradation, Raptor siRNA selectively inhibits mTORC1 signaling without directly affecting mTORC2. It is widely used as a research-use-only (RUO) reagent in laboratory settings to study the role of the mTORC1 pathway in cellular processes such as cell growth, proliferation, autophagy, and survival, as well as its involvement in diseases like cancer and intervertebral disc degeneration.
