Raricap

Raricap is an oral haematinic combination product containing iron (typically as ferrous calcium citrate or other ferrous salts) and folic acid, marketed primarily in India for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anaemia and folate deficiency, especially in pregnancy and other states of increased demand. It acts by replenishing body iron stores needed for haemoglobin synthesis and red blood cell production, while folic acid supports DNA synthesis and erythropoiesis, thereby increasing haemoglobin concentration and improving oxygen transport to tissues. Raricap is sold as tablets, suspensions, and drops as a branded generic nutritional and dietary supplement rather than a novel new chemical entity.
