Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RAS70 peptide is a 17-mer chimeric peptide designed to target membrane-bound heat shock protein 70 (mHsp70), which is selectively overexpressed on the plasma membrane of malignant brain tumors (such as glioblastoma) and brain metastases, but absent in normal tissues. It was developed by conjugating the 14-mer mHsp70-targeting peptide TKD (TKDNNLLGRFELSG) with the tripeptide RGD to enhance its bioavailability and blood-brain barrier (BBB) penetration. When conjugated to a fluorophore (such as Cy7.5), RAS70 serves as a diagnostic imaging agent for intraoperative fluorescence-guided surgery to delineate tumor margins. It is also being investigated as a potential carrier for targeted drug delivery.
