Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rasa Bhasma (also known as Parada Bhasma) is a traditional Ayurvedic herbo-mineral formulation prepared through the calcination (Bhasma) of purified mercury (Parada). In Rasashastra (Ayurvedic pharmaceutics), the preparation of Rasa Bhasma involves meticulous purification (Shodhana) and incineration (Marana) processes, often using sulfur (Gandhaka) and herbal juices, to convert toxic elemental mercury into a therapeutically active, bio-assimilable, and non-toxic organo-metallic compound. It is traditionally indicated for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including hepatic disorders, fever (jwara), digestive issues, and respiratory ailments, and is believed to act as a rejuvenator (Rasayana) that enhances longevity and vitality.
