Overview

RASiCA is a fixed-dose combination therapy currently under investigation for the treatment of hypertension. It combines a renin-angiotensin system inhibitor (RASi), specifically an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), with a calcium channel blocker (CCB). The rationale behind this combination is to provide synergistic blood pressure lowering effects by targeting two distinct physiological pathways: the blockade of the vasoconstrictive effects of angiotensin II and the inhibition of calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation. This dual approach is intended to improve blood pressure control and patient adherence compared to monotherapy or separate administration of the individual components.
