Overview

**RASRx1902** is an investigational oral small molecule Mas receptor agonist that activates the protective arm of the renin-angiotensin system to reduce inflammation, oxidative stress, and muscle degeneration while promoting muscle regeneration and cognitive function. Developed by RASRx, a University of Southern California start-up co-founded by Kathleen Rodgers, PhD, it has received FDA Orphan Drug Designation for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and is being advanced for mutation-independent treatment of DMD, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease-related cognitive impairment, and cardioprotection in models of Alzheimer's-like pathology. Preclinical studies demonstrate improved muscle strength, reduced necrosis, and efficacy in Duchenne muscular dystrophy models, ALS models targeting neuronal regeneration, and transverse aortic constriction (TAC) models of cardiac pathology.[1][2][3][4][7][10]
