Rat adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (rAdMSCs) are multipotent stromal cells isolated from rat adipose tissue. These cells are characterized by their ability to adhere to plastic, express specific surface markers (e.g., CD90, CD29), and differentiate into various lineages, including osteogenic, adipogenic, and chondrogenic. In the context of regenerative medicine, rAdMSCs are investigated for their therapeutic potential in treating musculoskeletal injuries, such as acute tendon ruptures, due to their immunomodulatory properties and ability to undergo tenogenic differentiation. Research indicates that intralesional injection of rAdMSCs, often delivered via a scaffold like fibrin gel, can improve structural aspects of tendon healing in a dose-dependent manner by modulating the inflammatory environment and providing a cellular source for tissue regeneration.
