Raxdil

Raxdil is a brand of cefadroxil, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic distributed by Rax Health Care. It is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and infections of the pharynx (pharyngitis) and tonsils (tonsillitis). As a beta-lactam antibiotic, cefadroxil exerts its bactericidal effect by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall. This inhibition prevents the cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains, which is essential for bacterial cell wall integrity, leading to cell lysis and death. Raxdil is available in multiple liquid formulations, including oral suspensions and drops, to accommodate different patient needs and administration routes.
