Overview

RAY1225 is a synthetic peptide drug that acts as a dual agonist of the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R) and gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR). It is being developed primarily for the treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. The drug mimics incretin hormones to enhance insulin secretion, suppress appetite, reduce body weight, and improve glycemic control. Developed by Guangdong Raynovent Biotech (a subsidiary of Guangdong Zhongsheng Pharma), it has reached Phase 3 clinical trials for obesity and overweight indications. Clinical studies have demonstrated significant efficacy in weight loss and blood glucose control compared to placebo[2][3][10].
