RayGel

**RayGel** is an investigational topical gel developed by Integrative Therapies for prevention or reduction of acute radiation dermatitis during external-beam radiotherapy for breast cancer. It contains reduced glutathione and anthocyanin extracts from blue/purple flowering plants. Its proposed activity is local antioxidant and cytoprotective support against radiation-associated oxidative skin injury; no discrete molecular target or validated target-binding mechanism has been established. In a small randomized, blinded study of patients receiving whole-breast irradiation, RayGel was associated with a lower mean skin-reaction score than placebo.
