Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Raylex is a topical over-the-counter (OTC) nail-biting deterrent developed and marketed by Alto Pharmaceuticals. It is delivered via a pen applicator and contains a combination of denatonium (the world's bitterest substance) and citrus peel extract to discourage nail biting through aversion therapy. Additionally, the formulation includes biotin (vitamin B8) to promote healthy nail growth. Unlike traditional coatings, Raylex is designed to penetrate the nail surface. It is primarily indicated for the behavioral prevention of onychophagia (nail biting) in both adults and children.
