RB571 is an RNA aptamer drug candidate developed by Regado Biosciences as the pharmacologic component of REG3, an actively controllable antiplatelet system targeting glycoprotein VI (GPVI) on platelets to inhibit collagen-induced platelet activation and thrombus formation.[1][3][7] As with other Regado aptamer programs, RB571 is designed to be paired with a complementary oligonucleotide active control agent (RB515) that can rapidly and specifically bind the aptamer and reverse its antiplatelet effect, allowing fine-tuned intra-procedural control of platelet inhibition.[1][3][7] RB571 and its control agent are intended for parenteral use in acute cardiovascular or procedural settings where reversible GPVI blockade could reduce thrombotic complications while preserving the ability to promptly restore hemostasis if bleeding risk emerges.[1][3][7]
