Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RBB-002 is an engineered aflibercept biobetter being developed by RophiBio for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). It is a recombinant fusion protein designed to neutralize both vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and placental growth factor (PlGF), which are key drivers of pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage in the retina. The molecule features Fc-engineering intended to improve its therapeutic properties, such as extended half-life or enhanced binding affinity, compared to the reference product aflibercept. RBB-002 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
