Overview

RBD1016 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) drug designed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) and chronic hepatitis D virus (HDV) infections. It is a GalNAc-conjugated siRNA that specifically targets the highly conserved region of the HBV X gene, enabling it to silence four HBV gene transcripts via RNA interference. This results in simultaneous inhibition of HBV DNA, hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) expression. RBD1016 is administered as a subcutaneous injection and has demonstrated rapid and durable reductions in HBsAg levels in early-phase clinical trials. The drug is being developed by Suzhou Ribo Life Science Co., Ltd., leveraging their proprietary liver-targeting delivery technology to enhance hepatic uptake and efficacy[1][2][3][4][5][7][8].
