Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RBD5044 is a GalNAc-conjugated small interfering RNA (siRNA) drug developed for the treatment of mixed dyslipidemia and hypertriglyceridemia. It targets apolipoprotein C-III (ApoC3), a protein that regulates triglyceride levels, by inhibiting its expression through RNA interference. This mechanism leads to reduced plasma triglycerides and improved lipid profiles, addressing residual cardiovascular risk not amenable to current lipid-lowering therapies. The drug is administered subcutaneously and utilizes the proprietary liver-targeting delivery technology platform RIBO-GalSTAR. Clinical trials have shown sustained reductions in triglycerides in preclinical models, with ongoing phase I and II studies in humans[1][2][3][5][6][8].
