Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RBD7007 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Ribocure Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Suzhou Ribo Life Science. It is designed to treat complement-mediated diseases by targeting the mRNA of Complement Factor B (CFB), an essential component of the alternative complement pathway. By leveraging the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, RBD7007 mediates the degradation of CFB mRNA in hepatocytes, leading to a sustained reduction in systemic Factor B protein levels. This reduction aims to prevent the pathological overactivation of the complement system seen in conditions such as IgA nephropathy (IgAN). RBD7007 is typically administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently undergoing early-phase clinical evaluation.
