Overview

RBD7022 is a GalNAc-conjugated small interfering RNA (siRNA) drug developed by Suzhou Ribo Life Science for the treatment of hyperlipidemia, including familial and non-familial hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. It targets proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) mRNA in hepatocytes via an RNA interference mechanism to inhibit PCSK9 protein expression. This inhibition reduces lysosomal degradation of low-density lipoprotein receptors (LDL-R), increases LDL-R on liver cell surfaces, and lowers blood levels of LDL cholesterol (LDL-C). The drug is administered subcutaneously and utilizes proprietary liver-targeting delivery technology. Clinical trials have shown that a single administration can sustain efficacy for several months with over 50% reduction in LDL-C levels[3][4][5][6].
