rBet v 1

rBet v 1 is a recombinant birch pollen allergen developed by Stallergenes Greer for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis caused by birch pollen allergy. The active ingredient is recombinant Bet v 1 (rBet v 1), which is the major allergen of birch pollen (*Betula verrucosa*). This biologic therapy is classified as an allergen immunotherapy product and was developed as a sublingual tablet (SLIT). The mechanism of action involves inducing immunological tolerance to the Bet v 1 allergen through allergen-specific immunotherapy, thereby reducing the allergic immune response upon natural exposure. Clinical development reached Phase II in several European countries and Russia; however, development was reported as stalled or discontinued as of 2019.
