rBet v1-FV

rBet v1-FV is a hypoallergenic, recombinant folding variant of the major birch pollen allergen Bet v 1. It is designed for use in allergen immunotherapy (AIT) to treat patients with IgE-mediated seasonal allergic rhinoconjunctivitis due to birch pollen allergy. The drug works by exposing the immune system to a modified form of the allergen, aiming to induce tolerance and reduce allergic symptoms during birch pollen season. Compared with native extracts, rBet v1-FV can be administered at higher doses without increased adverse effects and induces significant increases in specific IgG subclasses (IgG1 and IgG4), reflecting an immunomodulatory effect. Clinical trials have shown that it reduces symptom scores and is well tolerated[2][6][9].
