RBI-5000 is a self-replicating RNA (srRNA) vaccine candidate being developed by Replicate Bioscience for the prevention or treatment of infectious mononucleosis, which is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). The vaccine utilizes Replicate's proprietary srRNA platform to encode multiple EBV-specific antigens. Unlike conventional mRNA vaccines, srRNA is designed to replicate itself within the host cells, leading to sustained protein expression at lower doses. This approach aims to induce a broader, more robust, and more durable immune response against the virus. RBI-5000 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
