Overview

rBIO-003 is an epinephrine biosimilar being developed by R'BIO for the treatment of anaphylaxis. It is produced using a proprietary high-yield microbial expression platform, which is intended to provide a scalable and cost-effective alternative to traditional epinephrine auto-injectors like the EpiPen. As a non-selective adrenergic agonist, rBIO-003 mimics the action of endogenous epinephrine by targeting alpha- and beta-adrenergic receptors. This action induces vasoconstriction to counter systemic hypotension, increases peripheral vascular resistance, and promotes bronchodilation to alleviate respiratory distress during severe allergic reactions. The drug is currently in the preclinical discovery stage.
