Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RBM-005 is an investigational RNA aptamer developed by Ribomic Inc. that specifically targets and inhibits Interleukin-17A (IL-17A). IL-17A is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a central role in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, most notably psoriasis. By binding to IL-17A with high affinity and specificity, RBM-005 prevents the cytokine from interacting with its receptor, thereby modulating the downstream inflammatory signaling pathways. The drug is designed for topical administration to minimize systemic side effects while effectively treating localized inflammatory lesions, offering a potential alternative to systemic monoclonal antibody therapies.
