The RBM14 FS peptide vaccine is an experimental, preclinical-stage cancer vaccine candidate designed to target frameshift (FS) mutations. It utilizes a peptide antigen derived from frameshifted RNA sequences of the RNA-binding motif protein 14 (RBM14), which are frequently found in various human and mouse tumors. Developed by researchers at the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University, the vaccine is part of a broader effort to create a universal, prophylactic cancer vaccine. In preclinical studies using the BALB-NeuT transgenic mouse mammary tumor model, the RBM14 FS vaccine demonstrated the ability to delay tumor progression and elicit a humoral immune response. It has been evaluated both as a monotherapy and as part of a multi-antigen pooled vaccine alongside other frameshift peptides such as SMC1A FS and SLAIN2 FS.
