RBMRNA-405 is a bivalent mRNA-based vaccine developed for the prevention of COVID-19. It encodes spike proteins from both the Delta and Omicron variants of SARS-CoV-2, aiming to induce broad-spectrum immunity. Preclinical studies demonstrated that RBMRNA-405 elicits robust S-specific T-cell and germinal center B-cell responses, generating neutralizing antibodies with cross-reactivity against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants including Delta, Omicron, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Wuhan-Hu-1. In animal models (K18-hACE2 mice), vaccination with RBMRNA-405 efficiently blocked viral replication and prevented lung injury following challenge with Delta or Omicron strains. The vaccine is formulated as an mRNA encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for delivery.
