Overview
RBS-008 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody currently in preclinical development by RophiBio. It is designed as a biosimilar version of secukinumab (marketed as Cosentyx), a therapeutic antibody that targets and neutralizes interleukin-17A (IL-17A). IL-17A is a key pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. By binding to IL-17A, RBS-008 prevents its interaction with the IL-17 receptor complex, thereby inhibiting the downstream inflammatory cascade and reducing IL-17-mediated inflammation. The drug is intended for the treatment of inflammatory diseases and is expected to be administered via subcutaneous injection, consistent with its reference biologic.
