Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RBS-009 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody candidate developed by RophiBio that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). It is designed as a biosimilar to the reference product atezolizumab (Tecentriq). The mechanism of action involves binding to PD-L1 on the surface of tumor cells and tumor-infiltrating immune cells, thereby blocking its interaction with the PD-1 and B7.1 (CD80) receptors. This blockade prevents the inhibitory signaling that normally suppresses T-cell activation, effectively restoring the immune system's ability to recognize and eliminate cancer cells. RBS-009 is currently in the preclinical stage of development for various oncology indications.
