Overview

RC-3095 is a synthetic peptide and selective antagonist of the bombesin/gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR). It was developed as an experimental antineoplastic and anti-inflammatory agent. RC-3095 inhibits binding and downstream signaling through GRPR, which is commonly overexpressed in various tumors (such as pancreatic, breast, prostate, gastric, colon, and small cell lung cancer). In tumor models, RC-3095 has shown inhibitory effects on tumor growth, likely mediated through downregulation of epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR) and suppression of cell proliferation. RC-3095 also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, reducing the release of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-1β, and is being explored for potential use in inflammatory diseases. Its development status in humans is investigational, and its administration has primarily been studied via subcutaneous and intravenous injection[1][2][4][5][6][7].
