Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RC98 is a recombinant humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1; also known as CD274). By binding to PD-L1, it blocks the interaction between PD-L1 and its receptor PD-1 on T cells, thereby inhibiting an immune checkpoint pathway that tumors use to evade immune surveillance. This results in enhanced T-cell activation and antitumor immune responses. The drug is being developed primarily for the treatment of advanced malignant solid tumors and HER2-expressing gastric adenocarcinoma. Preclinical studies have shown that administration of RC98 leads to increased T-cell-dependent antibody responses and activation of the immune system[1][2][3][5][7].
