rClone30-IL-12 is a genetically engineered oncolytic Newcastle disease virus (NDV) based on the Clone 30 strain, designed to express the cytokine interleukin-12 (IL-12). As an oncolytic virus, it selectively infects and lyses tumor cells while simultaneously delivering IL-12 to the tumor microenvironment. IL-12 is a potent immunomodulator that stimulates T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell activity and promotes the secretion of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), thereby enhancing the host's anti-tumor immune response. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in inhibiting tumor growth and improving survival in various cancer models, including hepatoma and glioma.
