rClone30-IL-2 is a genetically engineered oncolytic virus based on the Newcastle disease virus (NDV) Clone 30 strain, designed to express the immunomodulatory cytokine interleukin-2 (IL-2). As an oncolytic virus, it selectively infects and lyses tumor cells while simultaneously delivering IL-2 directly into the tumor microenvironment. This dual approach aims to stimulate a potent antitumor immune response by activating T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its cytotoxic activity against various cancer cell lines, including glioma (U251), hepatoma (HepG2), lung cancer (A549), and cervical cancer (HeLa), as well as its ability to inhibit tumor growth and improve survival in murine models.
