Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RCM-104 is a Chinese herbal medicine formula developed for the management of obesity. It consists of three herbal ingredients commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine, selected based on both TCM theory and published research. The formula contains Lu Cha Ye (Camellia sinensis, tea) 40%, Jue Ming Zi (Cassia seeds) 40%, and Huai Hua (Sophora japonica) 20%. Clinical studies have shown that RCM-104 is well tolerated and can reduce body weight, body mass index (BMI), and body fat composition in obese individuals compared to placebo. The mechanism of action is believed to involve inhibition of intestinal lipases and stimulation of thermogenesis, likely due to active compounds such as epicatechin, caffeine, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), epicatechin gallate (ECG), rutin, and chrysophanol[1][2][4]. The product does not contain pharmaceutical substances like sibutramine or fenfluramine[1].
